UPL, a global leader in sustainable agriculture, is recruiting a Cocoa Officer for its Ghanaian subsidiary, Callighana. This role is based in Accra.  

 

Your mission:

Drive brand visibility, promote Callighana’s cocoa input portfolio, and increase its adoption in cocoa-growing communities by combining field marketing, technical product support, and customer engagement to strengthen the brand, grow market share, and support commercial development. 

Key Responsibilities

Brand Visibility & Field Marketing

  • Implement field-level marketing and promotional activities to increase brand visibility.

  • Represent Callighana at field days, demonstrations, trainings, and community events.

  • Support distribution and proper use of branded materials such as banners, posters, demo kits, and farmer guides.

  • Act as a brand ambassador within cocoa-growing communities.

Cocoa Portfolio Promotion & Product Positioning

  • Promote Callighana’s cocoa inputs as integrated, stage-specific solutions.

  • Support product launches, seasonal campaigns, and promotional drives.

  • Translate technical product features into clear value propositions for farmers and agro-dealers.

Farmer & Dealer Engagement

  • Organize and conduct farmer meetings, demonstrations, and field days.

  • Train farmers, cooperatives, and agro-dealers on product benefits, application, and safety.

  • Build strong relationships to enhance trust and loyalty.

Sales Enablement & Market Development

  • Support sales teams to achieve cocoa portfolio targets.

  • Identify high-potential cocoa zones, lead farmers, and influencers for targeted activities.

  • Collect market intelligence on competitors and farmer perceptions.

Reporting & Coordination

  • Report regularly on promotional activities, reach, and impact.

  • Track field engagement, product adoption, and provide feedback to improve marketing strategies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agribusiness, Marketing, or related field.

  • 2–5 years’ experience in agricultural input promotion, field marketing, or cocoa extension.

  • Experience in product launches or brand campaigns is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills.

  • Good understanding of cocoa production systems and input use.

  • Ability to combine technical knowledge with marketing and sales objectives.

  • Comfortable working in rural environments and engaging diverse stakeholders.
