UPL, a global leader in sustainable agriculture, is recruiting a Sales Representative for its Ghanaian subsidiary, Callighana. This role is based in Tumu.

Your mission

Drive sales growth, expand market coverage, and strengthen customer relationships across the Savannah and Upper West Region by promoting Callighana’s agricultural input portfolio, supporting agro-dealers and farmers, ensuring product availability, and managing customer credit and collections to achieve sustainable revenue growth and market development.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Achieve assigned sales targets for Callighana’s agricultural input portfolio.

  • Identify, develop, and manage relationships with agro-dealers, key farmers, and institutional customers.

  • Execute route-to-market plans and ensure consistent product availability across the region.

Market Development & Coverage

  • Expand market penetration by onboarding new agro-dealers and high-potential customers.

  • Increase numeric and weighted distribution of Callighana products.

  • Monitor regional demand patterns and align sales activities with seasonal calendars.

Credit Management & Collections

  • Implement and comply with Callighana’s credit policy for sales on credit.

  • Monitor customer credit limits, outstanding balances, and payment due dates.

  • Follow up with customers to ensure timely payment of invoices.

  • Escalate overdue accounts and credit risks to management as required.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build strong, long-term relationships with customers while enforcing agreed payment terms.

  • Address customer inquiries, complaints, and after-sales support promptly.

  • Educate customers on credit terms, payment schedules, and expectations.

Brand Visibility & Promotion

  • Ensure strong Callighana brand visibility at dealer shops and key market points.

  • Support regional promotions, field days, and marketing campaigns.

  • Ensure correct placement and maintenance of branded materials.

Reporting & Market Intelligence

  • Prepare and submit regular sales, credit, and activity reports.

  • Track collections performance and outstanding receivables within the region.

  • Collect market intelligence on competitor pricing, products, promotions, and credit practices.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Marketing, Accounting, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in field sales, preferably with exposure to credit sales and collections.

  • Knowledge of farming systems in the Savannah and Upper West Region is a strong advantage.

  • Strong selling, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

  • Good understanding of basic credit and collections principles.

  • Ability to work independently in rural and semi-urban environments.

  • Excellent communication, reporting, and record-keeping skills.
