We are seeking a Director of Sales to support the North American Team. This position works remotely and reports to the Business Director for North America.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for sales, forecasting and relationship building with all private label customers.
- Leadership for Branded partners in the US.
- Manage, train and motivate direct reporting sales staff according to company procedures, policy and employment law.
- Major areas of direct report management to include customer contact management, technical understanding of products and cropping systems, sales forecasting accuracy, communications skills, relationship building and account management.
- Provide and manage critical customer input and commitment to the production planning process.
- Includes Private Label customer product portfolio management, inventory projections and contractual compliance.
- Development and delivery of key financial measurements that involve monthly/quarterly/annual objective achievement of revenue, sales volume, accounts receivable, fixed expense management and profits.
- Supply market input and data to help shape the product portfolio, experimental advancement and pricing in a timely and consistent manner.
- Participate as an active member of the Advanta US executive management team representing the best interests of our subsidiary, the global organization and our employees.
- Inspire close teamwork, rapid learning and high performance of the team.
- Approximately 20-30% travel and customer visits required as needed and strategically planned for efficient impact.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of Seed Sales and Sales Management experience, Production Ag preferred, Ag Seed field preferred
- Bachelors required, advanced preferred
- Ag Business preferred
- Location is negotiable; Must be within the primary production agriculture geography of Tezas or Kansas. Need access to major airport.
