We are looking for a Learning and Development (L&D) Manager to help employees in both North and South Europe region, advance their skills and knowledge.

In this role, the incumbent should be passionate about helping people learn and grow. The incumbent is expected to have proven skills in designing and implementing a range of learning initiatives. Excellent communication skills in English are essential.

The main objective will be helping business succeed by training and developing employees.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement learning strategies and programs
  • Evaluate individual development needs
  • Design training programs customized to business and individual goals and needs
  • Implement various learning methods for e.g. coaching, job-shadowing, online training
  • Maintain L&D budgets and negotiate contracts
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and consultants
  • Create and assess the success of individual development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities
  • Support managers develop their team members through career pathing
  • Cultivate and support a community of L&D Specialists across the region
  • Support Global L&D initiatives through regional implementation
  • Be an active L&D champion and represent the region through regular communication with Global L&D team
  • Support embedding UPL culture through various initiatives around L&D, Org Culture
  • Supports the understanding and the embedding of the HR core processes by designing ad hoc materials and tools to better communicate them and engage the different communities.
  • Constantly define KPI’s, tracks them and measures the success of the different trainings
  • Promotes the talent development philosophy by running workshops with the different stakeholders and communities to explain it
  • Designs and deploys learning tools in line with the digitalization of the region



Key Requirements

  • BSc/BA in Business, HR Master or a related field, professional certification (e.g. CPLP) is mandatory
  • Passion for helping people grow
  • Mandatory excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, know - how in additional languages is preferable
  • 5 years of relevant work experience as an L&D Manager, Training Manager or similar
  • Past work experience in a global multicultural organization
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to work in a matrix environment
  • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices
  • Experience in project management and budgeting
  • Proficiency in MS office and with different kinds of Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Ability to build strong networks and rapport with employees and vendors
