Description: 

Oversee the continued development and improvements of product mixing, pumping, and application systems for Decco US.   Optimize product capabilities and meet customer requests for system controls and monitoring.  Position will include equipment Research & Development, design, programming, fabrication, installation, training, and other equipment duties as deemed necessary. 

  • R&D - Focus on continued improvements to existing systems.  Identify key areas where improvements can be made to product handling and applications.  Work with external departments such as sales, technical, R&D, management, and others.  Primary focus is to maximize product capabilities and increase Decco’s competitive position. 
  • Design – Use R&D parameters to design and improve equipment and controls for product delivery, applications, and monitoring.  Will require development/creation of equipment and wiring diagrams and/or models. PLC and HMI programming.
  • Fabrication – Responsible to build systems that are developed.  Including electrical control cabinet assembly/wiring, welding, etc.  Provide direction to service personnel on building necessary equipment for service needs.
  • Installation – Oversee and lead all equipment installations.  Work with mechanical and sales staff to ensure proper installation and operation of equipment as needed.
  • Inventory – Develop and maintain vendor relationships. Negotiate pricing and create cost estimates. Maintain parts inventory.
  • Training – Provide training to staff for proper use and care of all application equipment.  Develop written standard operating procedures (SOP) for equipment use.
  • Documentation – Develop and maintain accurate mechanical / electrical drawings and bill of materials. Create equipment manuals and operating procedures.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience working as a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.  Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Ability to work in the United States on an on-going basis without company sponsorship

  • Industrial electrical and mechanical skills
  • Fabrication skills
  • SolidWorks
  • PLC and HMI programming, ABB Automation Builder and Codesys preferred
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Additional Job Details

  • Position requires individual to work both alone and in a team environment. 
  • Work will be conducted in office, mechanical shop, packinghouses, and in a company provided vehicle.  While based in an office/shop environment, it will require frequent time spent on calls to customer’s accounts and in packinghouses. Work conditions will include noisy areas and wide range of temperatures.
  • Interaction required in individual customer meetings as well as industry meetings and trade shows.
  • Position will require travel to all regions of the United States and occasional international activities.
