JOB SUMMARY: The role holder will have a strong fundamental understanding of accounting principles and will be responsible for the following: rebate accounting, analysis, and relevant statutory and compliance support. The role will also touch upon many enhancement projects to improve processes and efficiency (Ivalua No PO No Pay, and S4Hana) and governmental compliance (escheatment process development). This role will also be training teams on SAP OCR technology to improve efficiency and accuracy of transactions, be the reviewer of transactions to ensure OCR working as designed and support tax related matters such as R&D Tax Credit and compliances with regards to improved maintenance of Tax-Exempt Certificates and W8 renewals.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Partner with Marketing teams on program updates throughout the campaign year and sharing insights.
  • Review calculations and payments in compliance with all executed agreements inclusive of all details such as the customer, pricing, and contract terms set up within the rebate system in SAP.
  • Function as the SAP rebate data subject matter expert- performing data mapping and validation, verification of calculations, master data and contract maintenance, and rebate processing.
  • Responsible for identifying, analyzing, and solving data problems related to rebate contract management systems and tools.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with counterparts in marketing with other business partners to ensure a timely flow of information, resolve data issues, discuss utilization and payment variances, and additional research as needed.
  • Perform all data and process controls.
  • Monthly review and oversight of rebate accrual position in line with estimated rebate obligations.
  • Support documentation of the process flow from point of initial program development to execution of final rebate payments.
  • OCR Technology training to support less rework and improved accuracy.
  • Support bank verifications and change requests.
  • Support enhancement projects underway for Ivalua and S4Hana, freight file improvement project (supporting accuracy of Freight accruals).
  • Support Tax Exempt Certificates, W8 renewals, Withholding Tax implications, and working with IT, tax and billing teams to ensure compliance with US and Canadian governmental regulations.
  • Develop and implement for UPL US entities a robust outstanding check escheatment process for governmental compliance.
  • Must work across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve regional or corporate objectives.
  • Support multiples audits, external and internal.
  • Other special projects as identified.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or similar major required.
  • At least 3-5 years’ of experience in rebate accounting/support in finance.
  • SAP experience required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience working in rebate accounting/support in finance at an agricultural chemical manufacturer, life sciences, or pharmaceutical company desired.
  • Good planning and organizational skills, with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours during month-end closing and audits.
