JOB SUMMARY: The candidate should have a strong fundamental understanding of accounting principles and will be responsible for the following areas. General Ledger, Audit Support, Fixed Asset and Lease Accounting. Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

 

General Ledger

  • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process with precision and timeliness.
  • Prepare and post journal entries ensuring adherence to GAAP standards and all regulatory requirements.
  • Manage general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and post prepaid expenses and accruals.
  • Oversee inter-company account reconciliations and transactions, ensuring consistency and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

 

Audit Support

  • Coordinate with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, leading audit preparations and ensuring compliance with GAAP and IFRS.
  • Create comparative BS and IS variance reports and provide explanations as needed.
  • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process with precision and timeliness.
  • Coordinate with auditors and lead audit preparations.
  • Collaborate with auditors (internal and external) to ensure accurate and efficient audit completion with tight deadlines.
  • Work with departments to ensure audit requests are responded to in timely manner.

 

Fixed Assets and Leases

  • Oversee fixed asset accounting and monthly depreciation entries.
  • Maintain and update amortization schedules.
  • Post lease entries and reconcile GL accounts.

 

Process Improvements

  • Contribute to process improvements and implementation of financial best practices.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve workflow processes for monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting cycles, with an emphasis on efficiency and accuracy.
  • Create comparative BS and IS variance reports and provide explanations as needed.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting or audit role.
  • 10+ years of SAP experience required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience working in rebate accounting/support in finance at an agricultural chemical manufacturer, life sciences, or pharmaceutical company desired.
  • Good planning and organizational skills, with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours during month-end closing and audits.
