JOB SUMMARY:
A Toll Sites/ 3rd Party Manufacturing Manager oversees outsourced production, acting as the liaison between a company and its external contract manufacturers to ensure products are made on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Key responsibilities include managing relationships with toll sites, negotiating contracts, monitoring production schedules, ensuring compliance with regulations, and collaborating with internal departments like quality assurance and supply chain.
Key responsibilities
- Toll Sites / 3rd party manufacturing sites management: Qualify and select contract manufacturers, manage their performance, and oversee relationships.
- Production and scheduling: Obtain and review production schedules, highlight issues, and ensure key dates are met.
- Quality and compliance: Ensure manufacturing processes comply with company policies and relevant standards. This includes investigating non-conformances and tracking corrective actions.
- Process optimization: Work to improve operational efficiency and cost savings in the outsourced manufacturing process.
- Project management: Lead projects related to technology transfer, new product launches, and product approvals.
- Performance monitoring: Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier performance.
- Financial oversight: Analyze spend data and proposals to make fact-based decisions and ensure cost-effectiveness.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
Toll Sites Manager will oversee production at contract manufacturing sites, ensuring products meet the timeline , meets the quality standards, managing toll sites performance, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
This involves managing production schedules, quality control, negotiate and manage toll fees, and supplier relationships to meet company goals and deadlines.
Production and Quality Management
- Oversee and control the production cycle at toll sites to ensure deadlines, costs, and quality standards are met.
- Monitor quality control systems to guarantee products meet company and market requirements.
- Coordinate root cause investigations for non-conforming products and track corrective/preventive actions.
- Ensure adherence to contractual agreements and internal policies and procedures.
Supplier and Relationship Management
- Manage and build relationships with toll sites / 3rd party manufacturers and suppliers.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for toll sites / 3rd party manufacturers and review their performance regularly.
- Act as the primary point of contact for toll sites / 3rd party manufacturers projects and ensure timely and accurate information transfer.
- Manage sub-tier supplier quality for the external toll sites / 3rd party manufacturers
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure the facility and processes comply with all relevant government, environmental, and industry regulations (e.g., GMP).
- Lead reliability, quality, and safety programs at the manufacturing sites.
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment is maintained by the toll sites / 3rd party manufacturers.
- Coordinate and participate in external toll sites / 3rd party manufacturers audits.
Cost, Operations & Continuous Improvement
- Implement cost-saving measures and improve operational efficiency.
- Negotiate and manage tolling fees
- Analyze production data and prepare reports for performance measurement.
- Support the technology transfer process and manage project implementations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and capabilities.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like Chemical engineering or chemistry.
- Proven experience in manufacturing, project management, quality assurance, or supply chain, particularly with third-party relationships.
- 6+ years of experience in tolling, manufacturing site management or a similar field
- Proven expertise in supplier relationship management, regulatory compliance (e.g., GMP), and cost optimization, including experience leading technology transfer and new product launch projects.
- Hands-on experience with process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to drive efficiency and cost savings in outsourced manufacturing environments.
