POSITION PURPOSE

The Commercial Lead will be responsible for leading UPL’s commercial operations in Sri Lanka, driving revenue growth, and ensuring alignment with the company’s global strategy. This role focuses on managing sales and business development for UPL’s portfolio. The Commercial Lead will ensure that UPL’s offerings meet the needs of customers while contributing to sustainable agricultural development in Sri Lanka.

 

JOB ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Develop and execute UPL’s commercial strategy for Sri Lanka to achieve revenue, profit, and market share targets.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities for UPL’s products.
  • Build and maintain a strong distribution network to ensure the availability of UPL products across key markets.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities for UPL’s innovative and sustainable agricultural solutions, including Bio-Solutions and digital tools.
  • Drive sales growth by managing key accounts, distributors, and channel partners.
  • Set and monitor sales targets, ensuring alignment with UPL’s regional and global objectives.
  • Optimize pricing strategies to balance competitiveness and profitability.
  • Prepare and manage the commercial budget for Sri Lanka, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs), such as sales growth, market share, and profitability, and report on progress to regional leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with UPL’s policies, local regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including farmers, distributors, government agencies, and industry associations.
  • Represent UPL at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance the company’s visibility and reputation in the Sri Lankan market.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, regulatory, and finance, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Lead, train, and mentor the sales and marketing teams to achieve high performance.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration within the team.
