The Data Acquisition Lead is an experienced data management expert in Data Acquisition capability demonstrating excellence for setup and streamlining management of data collection systems. Establishes relationships with current & prospective customers. This position combines operational excellence with strategic insight and strong leadership. This position is responsible for developing strategy, planning and execution of initiatives. Develops plans to improve the baselines using continuous improvement mythology.

• Work with farmers to facilitate historical data collection
• Utilize past data through ERPs, equipment monitors, thumb drives and files
• Capture field boundaries, names and locations (shape files) to add to database
• Capture at least 10 years of data including: planting dates, harvest dates, yield information, tillage passes, manure usage, fertilizer, spraying, irrigation, liming and any additional information requested. 
• Have ongoing dialogue with growers to capture any missing data gaps
• Work with data team to organize data by field, by year and present it in the proper format
• High awareness of compliance requirements and ensures compliance at any time.
• Actively lead continuous improvement initiatives; defining and implementing changes required to create an industry-leading data acquisition capability. 15%
• Producing data extracts as per project needs and reports.
• Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.


• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Agriculture or other relevant combination of education and experience.
• Experience with farm machinery, basic geographic information systems (GIS), variable rate technology, or mapping software.
• Proficiency in handling US ag software.
• Experience in processing large amounts of data.
• Strong skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint) with the ability to learn new systems and tools quickly.
• Advanced level MS Excel skills required.
• 3-5 years of data analysis experience.
• Self-motivated with a genuine drive to provide great customer service.

Travel - Approximately 25% - customer visits, training programs, HQ visits, etc. International travel required.
