JOB SUMMARY: The Regional Regulatory Manager is responsible for the registrations and marketability of assigned product lines. Reporting to the Regional Country Lead, Canada, the Regional Regulatory Manager is responsible for the professional interaction with the PMRA, CFIA, and/or other local regulatory authorities, trade associations, grower groups, customers and industrial partners, and competitors as required by job function. Individual can reside in either Canada or United States, preferably in Canada.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, plan, and execute registration activities to ensure timely submissions and approvals that support company growth plans.
  • Prepare both technical and regulatory documents to adequately defend and maintain UPL products in reevaluation, special review or other registration needs as they arise.
  • Lead in understanding, interpreting, and complying with all federal and provincial pesticide laws and regulations pertaining to pest control products in Canada.
  • Work closely and collaborate with regulatory personnel to provide strategic regulatory advice to management, R&D, sales, and marketing teams. • Represent UPL in key industry groups and influence outcomes on key issues to benefit both the industry and UPL.
  • Develop and grow vital relationships by interacting positively with regulatory agencies, trade organizations, grower groups, industry task forces, and trade associations to successfully communicate UPL’s regulatory objectives. 
  • Ensure products and marketplace labels are compliant with Pest Control Product regulations and all applicable regulatory standards.
  • Ensure company dossier and documentation requirements are met.
  • Liaison with the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Pest Management Center and Provincial Minor Use Coordinators to support/facilitate PMRA registration of Minor Use Projects.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ideal candidate will possess at least a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (ideally within a scientific discipline) with at least 3 to 5 years’ experience in direct, hands-on management of Canada pesticide registration and regulatory issues.
  • Proficient working knowledge of the Pest Control Product Act and PMRA policies and processes.
  • Experience in CFIA fertilizer and supplement registrations an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a global team environment.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills and ability to operate effectively within a highly matrixed organization and regulated business environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with great attention to details. 
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills are a must.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs

 

Travel: 10% for meetings or conferences
