POSITION PURPOSE

The Tax Specialist is responsible for ensuring full compliance with Indonesian tax regulations for PT UPL Indonesia and PT Excel Meg Indo (UPL Group), by managing accurate and timely tax calculations, filings, reporting, and documentation. The role supports effective tax governance, minimizes tax risk, and ensures alignment with UPL Group policies, Ethics & Code of Conduct.

 

JOB ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Prepare, calculate, review, and file monthly and annual tax returns, including Corporate Income Tax, Withholding Taxes (Article 21, 23, 25, 26), and Value Added Tax (VAT).
  • Ensure timely submission of all tax filings and payments in compliance with Indonesian tax laws and regulations.
  • Perform tax reconciliations between tax reports, general ledger, and financial statements.
  • Maintain accurate and complete tax documentation in line with statutory requirements and UPL Group standards.
  • Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on the companies’ operations.
  • Coordinate and manage tax audits, inquiries, and correspondence with the Indonesian Tax Authority.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required tax-related data and explanations.
  • Provide input on compliant tax planning initiatives to improve tax efficiency while minimizing risks.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Accounting, and external tax advisors to ensure consistency and accuracy of tax reporting.
  • Ensure strict adherence to UPL Group Ethics & Code of Conduct, governance framework, and internal control policies in all tax-related activities.
