JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for managing the overall operations, quality control, budget and personnel with respect to the laboratory function in the Kingstree manufacturing plant. Ensures all EHS and general facility activities and GLP analytical support activities for North America. Work closely with Business Development, Regulatory, Supply Chain and the Formulations Development & Manufacturing Managers to provide resources and product knowledge to support new & existing product needs.


•Manage and coordinate all analytical activities at the Kingstree site and a manor where the lab works as apartner and in collaboration with operations.
•Maintain compliance in all laboratory activities including environmental health and safety, GLP facilityrequirements, and all other laboratory activities.
•Act as lead in support of Supply Chain providing analytical support including new sourcing, supplierquality, monitoring, analytical test methodology and training of suppliers as needed
•Responsible for the in-house testing conducted at manufacturing site to include Raw Material, In processand finished product testing. Input in to sampling methodology, sample integrity and chain of custody.
•Maintaining analytical data, records and files.
•Address cross-contamination testing when applicable
•Internal audits to verify calibrations and analytical test data are accurate
•Track and investigate non-conformances – both in process and for product produced on site and movedto the channel of trade.
•Responsible for maintenance of lab equipment, scheduling outside maintenance when needed,troubleshooting as required.
•Maintain laboratory; ensure that the laboratory is clean, well-stocked, and all equipment is in goodworking order.
•Develop and rollout a strategy to support both Herbicide and Insecticide/Fungicide production on site
•Write SOPs and train laboratory staff on these SOPs.
•Manage a team of laboratory technicians (Performance/Time & Attendance/Training/Development).
•Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.


•Degree in chemistry or biochemistry
•7-10 years’ experience of formulation and or analytical lab experience.
•3-5 years’ direct experience in a laboratory manager role.
•Laboratory management and people management experience preferred.
•Experience in the regulated industry with a working knowledge of GLP and FIFRA data requirementsrequired; Ag industry preferred.
•Must have a working knowledge of analytical equipment.
•Experience creating and implementing data collection/processing systems in a laboratory environmenta plus.
•Responsible for maintenance of lab equipment, scheduling outside maintenance when needed,troubleshooting as required.
•Must have excellent written & verbal communication skills
•Must have excellent supervisory, collaborative, and teambuilding skills
•Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Outlook/Powerpoint)
•Proven ability to recruit, manage and retain talent.

Budget responsibilities – $0-$250K (Combined laboratory budget to include both formulation development, manufacturing support, analytical chemistry, EHS, and Sample program)


Travel - Approximately 5% - training programs, HQ & Site visits, etc.
