JOB SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with the production manager, project engineer, maintenance manager and the process engineer to achieve production and safety goals.  The Manufacturing Engineer will have responsibility for optimizing equipment uptime and throughput. This person will also be continuously looking for equipment process improvements.  This person will need to be capable of identifying technical problems and solving them with minimal guidance.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Procure and monitor performance of equipment/machines/tools and manufacturing processes
  • Meet plant individual performance expectations focusing on Quality, Safety and Delivery.
  • Assure compliance with corporate site and regulatory policies, practices, and guidelines.
  • Responsible for problem diagnosis / root cause(s) determination (automation, mechanical, documentation, training, etc)
  • Subject Matter Expert of process, equipment, and automation change requests for prioritization
  • Review of process requirements and evaluation of equipment and systems to ensure deliverables meet or exceed process specifications and manufacturing requirements.
  • Define and review the cycle times for all production workflows and create process improvements plans to continuously improve them.
  • Create work instructions and SOPs for workstations and maintain updated documentation
  • Determining facility and equipment specifications.
  • Planning and coordinating infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities.
  • Provides direction of process engineering support to ensure operational success of the maintenance coverage program. Analyzes repeated issues with equipment.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field
  • 1-4 years of experience working in engineering
  • Must have a working knowledge of process/packaging equipment
  • Good Understanding of Lean Manufacturing
  • Ability to analyze operational process issues and automation challenges to recommend/initiate appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
  • Coordinating and overseeing contractors performing maintenance activities.
  • Must have excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Must have excellent supervisory, collaborative, and teambuilding skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Outlook/Powerpoint)
  • Proven ability to recruit, manage and retain talent.

Travel - Approximately 5% - training programs, vendor/supplier visits.
