JOB SUMMARY:

The Plant Controller will perform preparation of financial reports to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.  In addition, will complete cost accounting analyses to compare estimated costs to actual costs and prepare a variety of related budget reports.

 

 ROLES & RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Manage all accounting operations including, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting. 
  • Manage month-end closing and prepare financial and operational reports for site.
  • Analyze variances and communicates explanations to management with recommended actions.
  • Prepare forecasts of production, inventory and cash flows for the Plant.
  • Must work across organization boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve plant, country or corporate objectives.
  • Integrates and trains Kingstree staff relating to accounting policies and procedures.
  • Shares and helps drive instituting best practices across corporate finance team, e.g. process improvements, financial modeling and procedures changes (ex: Warehouse Management System).
  • Provides proactive / unsolicited consultation, interpretation and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions.
  • Collaborates with Plant Manager and senior management to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify inefficiencies, understand operations and lead the development of complex analysis.
  • Monitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks.
  • Ensures proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as local statutory requirements.
  • Estimate product costs to support quoting activities.
  • Fixed Asset Management and Tracking.
  • Conducts physical inventories and monitors cycle count program with Supply Chain Inventory Team.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Must have a strong Cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles, Cost Accounting background.
  • Demonstrated expertise in MS Office.
  • Experience with SAP preferred, and experience with various manufacturing/warehousing modules is a plus.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • CPA Certification highly desired.
  • Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards
  • Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports according to deadlines
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work extended hours during month-end closing, budgeting etc.
