Summary: Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Receiving Lead is responsible for carrying out operational assignments, including directing forklift drivers on work priorities. The incumbent is also responsible to receive and inspect shipments, with and without purchase orders and submitting the information to the Warehouse Coordinator along with any necessary paperwork.


Qualifications: The essential candidate will be a team player, have a good eye for detail, basic math skills and ability to secure the cooperation of the forklift drivers to carry out assignments. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have adequate physical strength to unload shipments as required as well as clerical skills to update records and follow up with internal stakeholders. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.



  • Secure the cooperation of the forklift drivers to carry out management assignments
  • Collaborate with procurement staff to list expected deliveries
  • Receive shipments and manage upon receipt
  • Unload packages from incoming trucks as necessary
  • Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged
  • Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity / quality)
  • Notify supervisor and internal stakeholder if a mistake is identified
  • Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
  • Ensure deliveries are labeled and allocate them to their designated place
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
  • All other duties as assigned



  • Proven experience leading a small team
  • Previous receiving experience
  • Experience in operating forklifts
  • Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data
  • Basic math and recording abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Good physical condition
  • High school diploma
