Job Profile: Commercial Operations Manager

Purpose of the Role

To manage the company's commercial, administrative, and logistics operations in an integrated and efficient manner, ensuring the smooth functioning of the Machava warehouse and store, as well as the chain of stores located in Chokwé, Beira, Chimoio, and Nampula. The role is responsible for maintaining high levels of customer service and achieving the commercial, operational, and financial objectives established by the Group.

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Management, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Additional qualifications in Commercial Management, Logistics, or Finance will be considered an advantage.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in management roles.
  • Experience preferably within the agricultural, agro-industrial, or agricultural inputs sector.
  • Experience managing teams, stores, and/or multiple warehouse locations.
  • Strong exposure to commercial management and customer portfolio management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall management of the Machava warehouse and store.
  • Coordination and supervision of the store network in Chokwé, Beira, Chimoio, and Nampula.
  • Planning and control of inventory, logistics, and distribution activities.
  • Management and development of the company's existing customer base.
  • Monitoring commercial and operational performance of each store.
  • Financial management, including:
    • Operating costs
    • Commercial margins
    • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Implementation of commercial and operational procedures.
  • Leadership, training, and performance evaluation of teams.
  • Regular reporting to Management / Group leadership.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of management and finance principles.
  • Ability to analyse commercial and operational KPIs.
  • Good understanding of the agricultural sector (preferred).
  • Strong planning, organisational, and decision-making skills.

Behavioural Competencies

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and results-oriented profile.
  • Ability to manage multiple business units and teams.
  • High level of responsibility and professional ethics.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
