Reporting manager: Global Finance Head - Strategic Initiatives & Investments (GFH)

 

Purpose:

The Lead - Strategic Initiatives & Investments is responsible for both directed work that will mostly be triggered by a direction from the GFH, as well as leadership work that is self-directed and includes inputs and priorities from the GMT leadership team. This role will drive operational excellence and execution of strategic and important projects across the Finance & allied functions. The Lead to the GFH will enable communication, collaboration, strategy execution and special projects across the organization. The Lead will be a sounding board for the GFH execute on projects and programs that are important to the success of the organization.

 

Objectives of this role

  • Lead and execute on urgent and strategic key projects for the GFH and larger Finance organization
  • Serve as a sounding board for the GFH on new ideas and initiatives
  • Support in M&A’s by evaluating projects and thorough analysis before presentation to the management team and Evaluating the CIM, setting up functional calls, etc.
  • Coordinating for various audit requirements of the group with local teams and their auditor’s presentation for the monthly GMT & investor calls and Quarterly board meetings.
  • Support other businesses such as Decco, HNS , Veto pharma, herein supporting the Business and finance team on setting up a Financial governance matrix, certain DOA and approval process, treasury support, projects, M&A’s opportunities, etc.
  • Support the various JV companies under the purview of GFG in terms of monthly MIS calls, compiling monthly reports, presentations for monthly PE partner meetings , GMT & board meetings
  • Doing monthly review calls and ensure the action points are well picked up and followed up. Supporting GFH set up agenda and action points for global GMT calls
  • Assist in the development of Board decks
  • Lead preparation and strategy for Finance leadership meetings, including offsite cadence, content, action items, and execution follow up Collaborate with the CFO, VP, IR, and other key stakeholders in preparation for quarterly earnings activities
  • Support communication of key messaging within Finance, and externally Interact with senior leaders across UPL.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison with staff, executives, senior leaders, and GFH regarding company climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning
  • Oversee strategic projects in collaboration with senior leaders.
  • Develop and build on relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and responsiveness of existing operations, and help define new operational strategies by working with VC and other executives on special projects
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with preparation and dissemination of communications, from time to time.

 

Required skills and qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years Seven or more years of experience in a business management or executive role or preferred is CA
  • SAP / BW KNOWLEDGE Experience in organizing and directing multiple teams and departments
  • Experience in planning and leading strategic initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Versatile abilities and extreme dedication to efficient productivity

 

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Experience in data analysis, SAP, BW OR SIMILAR TOOL and budget management
  • Consulting experience, with a focus on operations & project management
  • Proven success in a project coordination role
  • Nimble business acumen, focused on developing creative & collaborative solutions
  • Strong project-reporting skills, with focus on interdepartmental communications
