Job Summary:  To identify and lead short- and long-term asset management initiatives associated with the soil & seed health portfolio including cost and price optimization, A.I.’s allocation and bench marking against key competitors.

Lead the implementation of the global soil & seed health strategy of the assigned A.I.'s, coordinating the category team (regional and functional representatives) in the execution of key projects, initiatives and gap filling activities (such as licensing and M&A), also identifying and executing key defense and life cycle management initiatives to maintain the portfolio, while driving  growth initiatives to maximize its potential.

Support the R&D prioritization process in the development of business cases and execution of projects that are multiregional in nature.

Global Portfolio Manager will also be responsible, together with Global Portfolio Head and BU’s, to meet the growth objective of the category, aligned with the long-range plan and to meet the budget Sales/GP objectives.



JOb Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities and threats related to the portfolio assigned AI's.
  • Understand the lifecycle of the assigned AI’s in the portfolio, and define key defense projects and initiatives to maintain the portfolio, while identifying and justifying growth opportunities to maximize its potential
  • Execute gap filling activities (such as licensing and M&A deals) to fill strategic portfolio and technology gaps
  • Elaborate business cases to drive the prioritized key growth initiatives in addition to key defense and lifecycle management projects and opportunistic growth initiatives
  • Deliver new product development and/or multi-regional R&D programs, by leading multi-functional teams and managing each project against established milestones and budgets
  • Support and supervise the launch of New Products in major markets
  • Support the development of the annual long-range plan for the assigned Insecticide’s AI's, in conjunction with the regions
  • Track the performance of the assigned Soil & Seed Health AI’s against short, mid and long-term growth objectives
  • Work closely with supply chain and procurement to establish key cost optimization initiatives ensuring projects are defined and completed in a timely fashion.
  • Determine best sourcing options to ensure continuity of supply to meet annual demand plans.
  • Implement benchmarking review of leading competitor technology and potential impact on current and future portfolio assets.
  • Work closely with Supply chain to coordinate AI’s allocation, if required and manage cost variations to optimize market share / GP.



  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Crop Protection industry in Sales, Global Product and Portfolio Management
  • Experience in Seed Treatment and Soil Health is desirable
  • B.sc Agri and MBA Agri Business Management from premier institute
  • Experience of working with diverse cultures will be valuable.
  • Experience of working in an agile, fast paced work environment will be valuable
