Purpose of the Job: The Specialist - Investments would undertake financial research and report on prospective investment avenues. The successful candidate will study how an investment is likely to perform and how sustainable it is. You will participate in our sound portfolio-management strategy by providing the necessary data for our decision-making process.
Responsibilities:
conducting due diligence on companies and industries by researching, reading financial statements and market dataanalysing financial information relating to specific companies, e.g. company results, profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements to determine how an organisation is positioned to deliver for investorskeeping up to date with market developments, new investment products and all other areas that can affect the markets, e.g. movements in the economies of relevant countriesconsidering how the economic implications of factors such as natural disasters, weather and wars might affect the performance of companiesmonitoring the financial news using specialist media sourcesfinancial modelling and projectiondrafting and writing research reports for the management usemeeting with and providing information to key stakeholders; this might include summaries of research, investment ideas, key events from the proceeding day as well as key drivers for the day aheadmaking recommendations to management, being able to position ideas and articulate to the stakeholders about the risk or payoff for each recommendationensuring that all compliance regulations are met in collaboration with diverse teams
Knowledge & ExperienceQualification: Post Graduation in FinanceEx Investment Banking / Investment Banking Back office.
Skills Required:the ability to research, analyse and evaluateexcellent communication skillsthe ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic environmentstrong numerical ability and quantitative skillsself-confidence, drive and tenacitythe ability to work effectively in a diverse teaminitiative, flexibility and innovationability to deal in ambiguity and adaptan interest in current affairs and an appreciation of their impact on the marketin depth investment knowledge - this may come from an interest in the markets, participation in relevant student societies or running a shadow portfoliocommitment to further study and qualificationslanguage skills and a global mindset - for international organisations.
Experience: 5 to 8 years of total experience in the above responsibilities
