Job Title: Specialist - Treasury Middle Office

Function: Finance / Risk

Role Purpose

The Treasury Middle Office role supports the Front Office / Market Desk by ensuring robust governance, controls, risk monitoring, and reporting across treasury and market activities. The role acts as a critical link between the dealing desk, back office, finance, and risk functions.

Key Responsibilities

Treasury Operations & Market Support

Support treasury market desk activities including FX, interest rate, liquidity, and funding transactions.

Validate and independently confirm deals executed by the Front Office for accuracy, limits, and compliance.

Ensure timely capture of trades in treasury systems and coordinate settlement with Back Office

Risk Management & Controls

Monitor market risk (FX, IR, commodity), counterparty risk, and liquidity risk against approved policies and limits.

Prepare daily/weekly reports on respective portfolios & their exposures, VaR/sensitivity, marktomarket (MTM), and limit utilization.

Escalate breaches, exceptions, and emerging risks to Treasury Head / Risk Committee.

Support stress testing, sensitivity analysis, and hedge effectiveness assessments.

Reporting & Analytics

Prepare MIS for senior management covering treasury positions, P&L attribution etc.

Assist in monthend and quarterend treasury close processes, including MTM validation and accounting coordination.

Policy, Governance & Compliance

Ensure compliance with internal treasury policies, delegated authority matrices, and regulatory requirements.

Support audits (internal, statutory) and contribute to strengthening treasury controls and documentation.

Stakeholder Management & Systems

Act as an interface between Front Office, Back Office, Finance, Risk, Banks, and Auditors.

Coordinate with banks for confirmations, limits, and operational issues when required.

 

Qualifications & Experience

MBA (Finance) / CFA / FRM/Masters in Statistics/Data Science  or equivalent qualification preferred.

3–5 years of experience in Corporate Treasury, Treasury Middle Office, Bank Treasury, or Market Risk.

Handson exposure to treasury instruments such as FX (spot, forward, swaps), IR derivatives, and hedging structures.

 

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of financial markets, treasury products, and risk management concepts.

High attention to detail with a strong control and governance mindset.

Advanced Excel skills; exposure to Bloomberg/Reuters, or equivalent market systems is an advantage.

Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholdermanagement skills.

Ability to work closely with the market desk while maintaining independence and objectivity.
