JOB SUMMARY: The role is part of the Global Business & Marketing Excellence team.


The incumbent shall be involved in supporting the Strategic Alliances team in preparing detailed business cases/ financial models in support with the Category/ Marketing teams, to be used for evaluating Licensing and Alliances deals for products, solutions and new technologies, for developing a strong portfolio through third party  partnerships/ licensing. The incumbent shall also be involved in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) related activities (including financial analysis of the target, financial
diligence, preparing acquisition proposals, deal structuring, etc., as required). 

 

Additionally, the incumbent shall be the custodian of the Strategic Alliances pipeline, collaborating with the team in regularly updating them and tracking their movements. Further, he/ she shall also play an active role in driving the monthly ADC and
MNC partnership update meetings (both attended by SLT), by collating the updates from various stakeholders, analyzing the information, and presenting it to the leadership.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supporting the Strategic Alliances team (across categories) in developing robust business cases by breaking down complex business objectives into measurable and simple financial projections, measuring KPIs, and performing what-if analyses for all kinds of licensing, distribution and/ or other forms of strategic partnership arrangements. Work in close collaboration with category/ regional teams for in-depth understanding of the business drivers and providing support during management presentations and negotiations

 

  • Active participation in M&A evaluation of targets across categories and geographies. Ownership of all financial and business/ commercial analysis of the target under evaluation, preparing scenarios and proposals for potential transaction. Work in close collaboration with regional teams/ finance functions during negotiations and transaction documentation stage. Ownership required in running the due diligence process, and liaising with other SMEs, as required. Ability to understand implications of DD findings and addressing/ mitigating the risks.

 

  • Maintain key processes and related support for key Strategic Alliances meeting
    • Ensure full readiness in terms of collating inputs, assimilating/ analyzing the input received, and updating the management deck for the monthly ADC meetings, along with ensuring coverage of capturing agreed actions, key decisions, follow ups etc.
    • Actively ensure that the Strategic Alliances pipeline is regularly updated, and all critical details are included 
    • Ensure updates for monthly meetings to manage on-going initiatives with multinational partner

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 8-10 years of experience in corporate finance, commercial/ financial diligences, financial analysis, M&A deal structuring
  • MBA/ PGDM from a top B-school, preferably with specialization in finance, OR CA with strong experience/ understanding of business drivers/ commercials
  • Adept with tools and techniques required for financial planning/ analysis, business case modelling
  • Expertise in understanding financial drivers required to evaluate projects is a must.
  • Strong skills required in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Experience of working with diverse cultures will be valuable.
  • Experience of working in an agile, fast paced work environment will be valuable
