Lead- Cloud Operations and Data Center

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: This role is multi-faceted being proactive in ensuring that UPL IT Infrastructure is secure, protected and up to date in the face of known and emerging cyber threats and ‘fit for purpose’, contributing to resolution (and avoidance) to issues and problems affecting the IT Infrastructure, performance and availability, undertaking an advisory role within the IT Service Delivery team providing advice, guidance in supports of its IT Infrastructure, Virtual Data Centre environment and WAN/LAN communication, and contributing to/leading on IT Infrastructure design, implementations and changes. Key activities include:

1. Cloud Operations Management:

· Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based services and solutions IAAS, PASS & SAAS.

· Monitor and optimize cloud resources to ensure efficient performance and cost-effectiveness.

· Multi cloud experience of Azure, AWS and Oracle cloud along with hybrid cloud

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address cloud-related challenges and opportunities.

2. Data Center Management:

· Supervise data center operations, ensuring 24/7 availability, security, and reliability of critical systems and applications.

· Design, Implementation & Support for Operating Systems Window, Linux , Database Oracle , SQL and HANA & data Backup

· Conduct regular audits to assess the data center's performance and compliance with industry standards.

3. Team Leadership and Development:

· Manage and mentor a team of cloud engineers and data center technicians.

· Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.

· Set clear objectives and provide regular feedback to team members to enhance their professional growth.

4. Security and Compliance:

· Ensure data security and compliance with relevant industry regulations and company policies.

· Implement robust security measures to safeguard sensitive information and prevent data breaches.

· Collaborate with security teams to conduct risk assessments and address potential vulnerabilities.

· Monthly patching and hardening of Server Operating system (Linux & Windows), Databases (Oracle, SQL and HANA) & Hypervisor and firmware.

5. Vendor Management:

· Engage with cloud service providers and data center vendors to negotiate contracts and maintain strong partnerships.

· Evaluate vendor performance regularly and ensure compliance with service level agreements.

· Forecast infrastructure needs and plan for scalability to accommodate the company's growth.

· Identify opportunities to optimize resources and improve overall system performance.
