Project Lead - Conquest

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Conquest Strategy and Execution

• Define and drive the Project Conquest roadmap aligned with organizational priorities and business strategy.
• Translate Project Conquest objectives into clear workstreams, milestones, governance cadence, and measurable outcomes.
• Partner with Technical, Formulation, R&D, Field Stations, Regulatory, Commercial, and Supply Chain teams to ensure aligned execution.
• Establish structured review mechanisms to monitor progress, risks, interdependencies, and decision points.
• Ensure Project Conquest delivers sustainable process improvements that improve speed, quality, cost efficiency, and market readiness

Project Conquest Leadership

• Lead Project Conquest, focused on building sustainable and efficient process flows to enhance business outcomes.
• Identify bottlenecks in current workflows and implement process optimization and standardization.
• Enable better cross-functional collaboration to improve speed-to-market and innovation excellence.
• Track and deliver measurable improvements in cycle time, quality, cost efficiency, and market readiness.
• Drive initiatives to position UPL as:

• First in Technical
• First in Formulation
• First in Go-To-Market (GTM)

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Act as a bridge between Technical Development, R&D, Field Stations, Regulatory, Commercial, Supply Chain, and other enabling functions.
• Work with functional teams to map current-state and future-state process flows, clarify ownership, and remove execution roadblocks.
• Partner with Global and Regional Marketing teams to align on strategic priorities, ensure seamless execution of Project Conquest initiatives, and strengthen the link between Technical, Formulation, and Go-To-Market (GTM) objectives
• Collaborate with leadership to prioritize Project Conquest interventions and allocate resources effectively.
• Influence stakeholders to drive alignment on transformation goals, governance expectations, and change initiatives.

Performance Governance and Tracking

• Develop and maintain Project Conquest dashboards and review formats for real-time progress monitoring and decision-making.
• Define KPIs and success metrics across cycle time, quality, cost, speed-to-market, and market readiness.
• Ensure timely escalation of risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks with clear mitigation actions and ownership.

Process Excellence and Innovation

• Introduce best-in-class practices and continuous improvement methodologies across Project Conquest workstreams.
• Drive standardization, simplification, and removal of redundancies in key workflows connected with Technical, Formulation, and GTM priorities.
• Identify opportunities to enhance innovation throughput, execution reliability, and value realization.
• Benchmark against industry best practices to continuously improve processes and delivery effectiveness.

Change Management and Capability Building

• Lead change initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of Project Conquest process changes and governance mechanisms.
• Build capability within participating teams through training, enablement, workstream reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Foster a culture of ownership, agility, innovation, and business outcome orientation.

Required Skills / Experience:

• Postgraduate degree in Science, Agriculture, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field; MBA is a plus.
• 10–15 years of experience in R&D, Technical Development, Formulation, Project Management, Business Transformation, or Process Excellence roles.
• Proven experience in leading strategic cross-functional transformation programs with measurable business impact.
• Strong understanding of R&D, Technical, Formulation, and GTM processes in Agri/Chemical/Pharma or related industries.
• Experience working with cross-functional and global teams, with strong stakeholder management and governance skills.
