Junior Scientist - Crop Physiology

To support the Head of Crop Physiology Research in the planning and day to day management of their research programs conducted in the glasshouse and growth chambers. 


  • Help plan and carry out efficient crop physiology studies, experiments and routine processes that maximize work-flow.
  • Maintain seamless operation of the laboratory and associated equipment.
  • Maximize output of greenhouse by careful day to day planning of tasks required to progress and complete studies including preparation for data analysis and review.
  • Provide support to the Global research Lead for Crop Physiology by taking responsibility for the day to day operations and maintenance of the dedicated laboratory.
  • Work closely with glasshouse manager and team of greenhouse technicians to plan and carry out research experiments, studies and trials in the greenhouse.
  • Work both alone and with teams to achieve collective objectives of the Team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience growing plants in greenhouses and controlled environments
  • Bachelor of Science from an accredited college or university, preferably in Agricultural, Crop Science or Biological discipline
  • Ability to work in the United States on an on-going basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Record of growing, maintaining, sampling and harvesting a variety of plants in both greenhouses and growth chambers
  • Ability to performing detailed assessment on crop phenotype to the highest of standards. 
  • Experience with specialty crops desired
  • Strong observational skills
  • Diligence in record keeping and data reporting
  • Understanding of the application of rudimentary descriptive statistics to experimental data
