Technical Services Project Manager –  UK & Ireland – Job Description

Purpose of Role


An exciting new role tasked with leading the technical delivery of identified (approved) key projects in core crops.  This is driven by UPL strategic objectives to develop and deliver crop-based agronomy solution (Pronutiva) in collaboration with industry stakeholder (OpenAg).


Duties / Responsibilities

  • To lead the technical agronomy platform for identified projects.  Build and execute the delivery plan in combination with the UPL UK & Ireland Team and co-ordinated within UPL Europe Network where common platforms are identified. 
  •  Work with industry stakeholders, customers and 3rd parties to maximise value to end users, directly addressing key pain points associated with growing core crops, in a sustainable and profitable manner.
  • Utilisation of UPLs existing products, new product introductions and leading identification of new solutions will be key deliverables.
  • In addition to these core responsibilities the role may also include subject matter lead role for key crop(s), regional technical support and technical interface with key customers / stakeholder groups.


Experience / Qualifications

  • 5 plus years’ experience in technical role in Agriculture or Horticulture / Amenity.
  • Trials experience desirable including working knowledge of ARM  data software
  • Proven track record in project management and delivery
  • Commercial and / or Marketing experience desirable
  • At least 5 years’ of technical experience is required
  • Full UK Drivers Licence  

Skills / Knowledge


  • Professional technical qualification such as BASIS, FACTS, NRoSO
  • Excellent organisation and computer skills (MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Effective communicator, excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong and confident communicator, positive attitude
  • Fluent English, strong communication skills
  • Strong ability to deliver tech transfer to practical agronomy
