JOB SUMMARY: The Service Technician is a member of the field service staff responsible to maintain application systems
at customer locations and interact with customers to ensure proper use of our products and customer satisfaction. The
position must keep equipment operational through repair and maintenance along with installation of new systems as
needed, as well as communicate with managers and other departments to ensure successful treatment of commodities
being processed.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mechanical Services: Maintain Decco owned application equipment and machinery along with regular calibration
of various application equipment. May include light electrical wiring and troubleshooting. Use of hand and power
tools to complete tasks. Fabrication skills to build basic items using welders and cutting tools. Learn PLC control
functions.
Product handling and Mixing: Requires handling, mixing, and application of Decco products; coatings, cleaners,
sanitizers, fungicides, growth inhibitors, and more. Controlling dosing pumps, transfer pumps, use of measuring
devices, and able to follow mixing charts.
• Account Management: Interface with account managers and other key personnel at customer locations to ensure
product and service satisfaction. Provide feedback to Decco managers and others to keep team informed of field
activities. Maintain proper inventories to facilitate Decco treatments at customer locations.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed written records of applications and activities.
• Problem Solving: Demonstrate ability to diagnosis and troubleshoot pumps, motors, control cabinets, and other
types of machinery to return to proper working order.
• Collaboration and Cooperation: Ability to work through various situations to achieve desired results by working
with other team members, supervisors, and customers.

• Working conditions: Perform job functions at Decco warehouses, offices, laboratories, customer packinghouses, storage facilities, and other locations as assigned. Work in ambient outdoor temperatures throughout the year and in cold storage facilities. Frequent lifting up to 80 pounds along with regular use of stairs, ladders, and platforms. Frequently travel in company provided vehicle, between 1 and 6 hours a day.

• Wear proper PPE: Must wear proper PPE as designated by product SDS and company policies while handling all products and performing job functions. Includes eye, ear, foot, head, and other protective items.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in repair, maintenance, and operation of machinery
- Valid driver’s license, able to drive company vehicle, and safely tow trailers
- Physical requirements: Must be able to lift 80 pounds daily and the ability to complete 90% of job duties
while standing, both indoors and outdoors
- Able to use hand and small power tools, digital devices (phones/tablets), and computers


PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of fruit and/or vegetable handling and treatments
- Clean driving record on DMV Report
- Experience handling pumping and mixing equipment, fabrications skills, and electrical knowledge
- Control panel building and repair skills, PLC use experience
