JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Sub-Region Finance Head, CEE & Finance Manager Poland is responsible for leading the finance function across the Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) sub-region while maintaining full financial ownership and statutory accountability for Poland.

 

The role serves as a strategic business partner to the CEE Leadership Team, driving profitable growth, financial performance, working capital optimization, governance, compliance, and value creation across the region. The incumbent will provide leadership in commercial decision support, planning and analysis, risk management, and financial stewardship while ensuring robust financial controls, accounting integrity, and statutory compliance within Poland

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Regional Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Act as the senior finance leader for the Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) sub-region
  • Partner with regional and country leadership teams to drive business performance and execution of strategic priorities
  • Own and monitor sub-regional financial performance, including Revenue, Gross Margin, EBITDA, SG&A, Working Capital and Free Cash Flow
  • Drive alignment between business objectives and regional/global financial priorities
  • Provide financial leadership and challenge to support informed business decisions and profitable growth
  • Support strategic initiatives including market expansion, portfolio optimization, pricing decisions, investment evaluations and business transformation projects

 

Business Partnering & Financial Performance Management

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to commercial and functional leadership teams
  • Lead monthly, quarterly and annual business performance reviews
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, operational efficiency, and return on investment
  • Monitor business performance against financial commitments and recommend corrective actions where necessary
  • Support customer, product, channel and market profitability analysis
  • Drive a culture of accountability, performance focus and data-driven decision making across the sub-region

 

Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead annual business planning, budgeting and forecasting processes across the sub-region
  • Ensure timely and accurate forecasts with strong analytical rigor and transparency
  • Consolidate and review country submissions and challenge assumptions to improve forecast accuracy
  • Develop financial models and scenario analysis to support strategic decision making
  • Deliver management reporting, business insights and actionable recommendations to leadership

 

Working Capital, Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Drive cash generation initiatives and working capital improvements across the CEE region
  • Monitor and improve receivables collections, inventory management and payment practices
  • Drive credit management discipline and customer risk management processes
  • Identify and mitigate balance sheet risks including ageing receivables, inventory provisions and other financial exposures
  • Partner with Treasury, Tax, Commercial and Supply Chain teams to optimize liquidity and cash performance

 

Poland Finance Leadership & Controllership

  • Maintain full responsibility for all finance, accounting and controlling activities for Poland
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close processes
  • Oversee General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Inventory and statutory reporting activities
  • Ensure compliance with Group Accounting Policies, IFRS requirements and local accounting regulations
  • Manage relationships with auditors, banks, consultants and external service providers
  • Support local business leadership with financial insights and decision support

 

Governance, Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with Group Accounting Policies, IFRS requirements and local accounting regulations
  • Manage relationships with auditors, banks, consultants and external service providers
  • Support Poland business leadership with financial insights and decision support
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, regulatory and corporate governance requirements
  • Lead internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings
  • Maintain and strengthen internal control frameworks and financial governance standards
  • Identify, assess and proactively manage financial, operational and compliance risks
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical standards and regulatory obligations

 

 

Tax & Statutory Compliance

  • Oversee corporate tax, VAT, transfer pricing and other local tax requirements
  • Ensure timely filing of statutory reports and tax submissions
  • Coordinate with internal and external tax advisors to maintain compliance and optimize tax efficiency
  • Monitor changes in legislation and evaluate business impact

 

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead and develop finance resources across the sub-region and within Poland.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Build finance capabilities in business partnering, financial analysis and governance.
  • Support talent development, succession planning and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and best practice adoption across the finance organization.

 

Transformation & Process Excellence

  • Drive standardization, automation and simplification of finance processes
  • Partner with Global Business Services and regional finance teams to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support finance transformation initiatives, restructuring activities, acquisitions, integrations and strategic business projects
  • Improve reporting capabilities, systems utilization and data quality to enable stronger decision making

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Commerce or Business Administration
  • CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification preferred

 

Experience

 

  • 10-15 years of progressive finance experience within multinational organizations
  • Proven experience in regional or multi-country finance leadership roles
  • Strong background in Financial Planning & Analysis, Business Partnering, Controllership and Governance
  • Experience managing statutory compliance, taxation and audit processes
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior business stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience within Agriculture, Crop Protection, Chemicals, Manufacturing or related industries is advantageous
