Job Summary:
This hybrid position will be responsible for providing hands-on technical service, equipment maintenance with proactive sales responsibilities. This position requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills and the ability to build long-term relationships with customers while contributing to revenue growth and maintaining customer satisfaction. Additional responsibilities include supporting the aerosol, Nexy and 1-MCP application services in the Northern region. Primary focus in Pacific Northwest with opportunities in other regions.
JOb Responsibilities: Industrial Service Technician
- Service Technician: Perform equipment installations, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair Decco application equipment. Accurately diagnose technical issues and provide effective solutions in a timely manner. Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance while maintaining accurate service records and documentation.
- Commercial Development:
- Advisor: Responsible for advising stakeholders with proper fruit treatment recommendations focused on protecting fruit quality during the postharvest process. Provide insight into proper handling practices during the storage and shipping of commodities. Utilize existing skills in combination with available resources to provide creative and effective solutions.
- Storage Application: Aid during storage application season. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; staffing, training, scheduling and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Account Management: Lead collaboration efforts with other Decco stakeholders delivering the highest level of customer service and satisfaction. Develop strong relations with customer management and other personnel. Deliver on account performance.
- Strategy: Develop and implement strategies based on market research to expand on existing revenue and gain entry to new customers and markets. Identify opportunities to present solutions to various crops and markets
- Commercial Excellence: Provide accurate and timely information for product forecasting and demand management program. Ensure customer satisfaction of product performance and services. Implement processes to optimize commercial performance.
- Expertise: Become an expert on the product portfolio and services offered by Decco. Must develop a strong understanding of the treatment and handling of commodities during postharvest phase.
- Collaboration and Cooperation: Ability to work through various situations to achieve desired results by interfacing with other team members, supervisors, customers, and industry personnel. Actively listens and communicates respectfully and effectively.
- Professional Deliverables: Construct professional documents for presenting to customers, industry personnel, and intercompany partners and leaders. Able to present in a professional manner to individuals or groups.
Job Responsibilities: Sales Representative
Sales/Growth Initiatives: Develop strategies to expand on existing sales and gain entry to new markets.
Planning: Identify key markets and customers. Determine short and long-term strategies to sustain ongoing business along with expected growth.
Commercial Excellence: Provide accurate and timely information for product forecasting and demand management program.
Portfolio Expertise: Learn Decco Post Harvest product lines to further expand sales of existing business and new opportunities. Identify new products to add to the portfolio to increase sales.
Attain Annual Sales Budget Goals: Reach annual goals through sales to new customers and growth within existing pome customers.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Utilize CRM full-time as a sales tool for planning, tracking and reporting efforts toward annual sales goals.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 5 years’ experience in Customer Service Field, Sales, and/or technical roles.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Business-to-Business sales
- Experience in building relationships, customer development, and relationship management
- Experience in agriculture industry
- Strong mechanical and /or electrical knowledge
- Strong interpersonal skills including influencing, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
- Professional communication skills, written and spoken
- Computer skills: Word processor, spreadsheets, and other software
PREFERRED SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE:
- Formal PLC and programming training
- Experience with agriculture chemical manufacturer, distributor, or similar
- Experience in postharvest, fruit processing, or similar
